Wendler 5/3/1 Cycle 6 Week 2


  • 130 lbs x 3+: 6
  • 165 lbs x 1: 0
  • 75 lbs: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10

130 x 6 isn’t bad but isn’t great.  It felt good enough that I decided to go for 165 for the heck of it.  Got it up to about eye height where it just stuck.  Probably should have tried 162.5.

Rushfit Fight Conditioning DVD

Continuing with the Rushfit Georges St-Pierre 8 Week Ultimate Home Training Program that I began the other day, I did the Fight Conditioning workout.  I’m not following any of the included schedules but just going through the DVDs one at a time whenever I feel like it.

For the Fight Conditioning workout, they throw in all sorts of surprisingly challenging fighting moves.  The DVD includes a 26 minute overview of these moves but I didn’t watch all of it figuring it couldn’t be that hard.  It turned out to be fairly technical (coming from someone with no fighting background).  For some of the rounds, I spent most of the time staring at the screen trying to figure out what the heck they were doing.  So my initial impression of this DVD is that it probably isn’t great for people who want to just jump in and get some solid cardio but it is great for people who like the idea of learning some technical fighting moves and working up to the point where you can execute these effectively enough to get a real workout from it.  I enjoyed it and am looking forward to doing it again soon.
