Wendler 5/3/1 Cycle 6 Week 3

Bench: 217.5 x 1+: 2

2 is better than 1 but not as good as 3.

Assistance Circuit

  • Bench 115 lbs: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
  • DB batwing rows 50 lbs (10 count holds): 1, 1, 1, 1, 1

The batwings were an experiment.  Not sure if I was doing them right.

RushFit Abs & Core DVD

I skipped the warmup/cooldown as I just wanted to run through something quick.  This DVD covered pretty much standard ab/core movements — planks, situps, wood chops, etc.. It usually takes about 24 hours for me to start feeling ab work so maybe I will update this tomorrow.

Next Day Update:  My abs are a little sore but not GHD/RC situp sore.  That doesn’t necessarily mean that the ab workout wasn’t effective — just an observation.  I’m actually sore in the upperbody.  I guess those batwings did their job even though they didn’t seem like much at the time.  Also, oddly, my legs are sore like I did some serious squatting.
