Squat (Bas’ Barbell 6 Weeks To A Bigger Squat Week 2 Day 2)

- 285 x 6 x 2
Not much to say here. This went fine. Knee didn’t feel wonderful but it was more of a dull ache than sharp pain.
Cleans
- 135 lbs x 1
- 150 lbs x 1
- 165 lbs x 1
- 180 lbs x 1
- 195 lbs x 1
- 205 lbs x X
- 205 lbs x 1
- 210 lbs x 1
- 215 lbs x XX
- 220 lbs x X
The miss on 205 was weird. I racked it pretty much perfectly — bar right up against the throat and elbows around. Then for some reason I decided to drop it. This is one I wish I had on video to see if something actually went wrong or I just had a brain fart.
I felt really good up until the 215 and then just hit the wall. I guess I need more carbs in my diet! Haha, just kidding. I guess the 95 degree weather, lots of squats this week, etc. just caught up. I didn’t have the energy or motivation to battle the 215.
Deadlift

I didn’t expect much with the deadlift after bombing out on the cleans but was pleasantly surprised to pull a solid 390. It was slow but with good form. That’s 97.5% of my previous max of 400 and much much nicer than that rep at 400.
