Squat (Bas’ Barbell 6 Weeks To A Bigger Squat Week 6 Day 2) — FINAL DAY!
- Warmup: 45 lbs x 5, 135 x 5, 205 x 2
- 235 x 2
- 270 x 2
- 285 x 1
- 300 x 1
- 320 x 1
- 335 x 1
- 350 x 1 (PR!)
- 360 x X
Finally day of the Bas’ Barbell program and the end result was a 15 lb (5%) PR. Great! By comparison, my squat went up a mere 10 lbs in the 5 months prior to the squat program so 15 lbs in 6 months is pretty awesome.
The 350 wasn’t easy but it felt like I had more in me so I went for 360. That proved to be a bit too much and pretty much just drove me down into the power rack safety pins. Honestly, it may have been a psychological give-up as much as physical.
Press
- 45 lbs x 5
- 95 x 3
- 115 x 2
- 135 x 1
- 150 x 1
- 160 x XX
I decided after getting the squats done that it would be cool to do a quick impromptu CrossFit total. I was happy to hit 150 given that I’m still recovering a bit from Tuesday’s benching and pressing.
Deadlift
- 205 x 3
- 225 x 2
- 305 x 1
- 355 x 1
- 375 x 1
- 400 x 1
400 lbs on the deadlift is starting to look like my new “easy” max. I remember not too long ago dreaming about the mythical 400 lb deadlift. Hitting big milestones is a cool thing.
CrossFit Total
- 350 + 150 + 400 = 900 (PR!)
Pretty cool to hit 900 for a semi-official CrossFit Total! Next stop, 1000!
