Fitness Log 2013-10-02: Press, etc.

Press

  • Warmup: 45 lbs x 5, 60 x 5, 75 x 5, 90 x 3, 105 x 2, 120 x 1
  • 135 x 5, 5, 5, 5, 7 (Rep PR)

Decided to do this as a 5×5 day plus a rep max on the last set.  7 reps is an all-time rep PR at 135 so that is cool.

One Arm DB Incline Bench

  • 50 lb DB (L/R): 10/10, 10/10, 9.5/9.5
  • 1 min rest between sets

A slight downturn from last week but not surprising given the 5×5 presses beforehand.

Close Grip Bench

  • Warmup: 45 x 5, 75 x 5, 95 x 5
  • 115 x 10, 10
  • 1 min rest between sets

Likewise, a slight downturn from last week but also not surprising.

Circuit

  • Heavy Bag x 1 min
  • 16 kg KB Swings x 25
  • 15 lb Renegade Rows x 5 (1 push-up, 1 right arm row, 1 left arm row per rep)

Just a fun little circuit.  I’m a fan of mixing heavy bag with KB swings.  They seem to just work well together for some reason.  I think I need to bump up the KB weight for the swings as 16 kg is kinda nothing.
